Not My Child is a film about substance use disorders. Which means you are inviting parents to an event on a subject that they probably don’t want to think about. And that’s okay.
The intent of the film, and the screening event you are hosting, is to help parents understand the seriousness of topic and the dangers inherent in substance use. And you also want to let them know there’s hope – there are steps parents can take, to be proactive if possible or intervene if necessary.
It’s an opportunity to answer questions and provide support.
In addition to screening the 45-minute documentary, your event should help make parents feel better equipped to address substance use disorders at home.
